The next Silicon Valley Mobile Monday is going to be April 3rd 2006. The topic is “Flash and SVG”, both have gotten a ton of interest and lots of requests. Even though CTIA is running at the same time and some folks are going to be out of town for that I think it’s going to be a fantastic meeting. Here are the details, in Mike Standard MoMo Meeting Format:

  • What: April 2006 Mobile Monday (Flash and SVG)
  • When: April 3rd, 2006 7:00pm
  • Where: AOL Building 12, 401 Ellis St., Mountain View, CA
  • Who: Anyone interested in mobility
  • Cost: Nothing!

We’re trying to keep the number of presentations small so that everyone has more time to mingle and talk. General feedback has been that the presentations were running too long, and I’ve been paying attention! So here are the three extremely high quality presenters we’ll be hearing from:

  • Antoine Quint - from Fuchsia Design and Ikivo is a specialist in SVG. He presented on SVG at the London Mobile Monday, and we’re fortunate enough to have him available now that the topic has come up over here. He’s going to be giving an overview of the SVG ecosystem on mobile in general.
  • Adobe - We’re still working out some of the details, but Adobe has agreed to provide us with one of the technical folks from the Flash Lite implementation effort to give us an overview of their efforts to bring Flash to mobile platforms.
  • Beatware - When I announced the SVG/Flash topic I had a few people ask me “Hey, have you spoken to Beatware? You should check out their stuff.” Fortunately Marc Verstaen was already a MoMo enthusiast and had been pushing me to do a Flash and SVG based meeting. CEO of Beatware, Marc is going to be wrapping stuff up with some samples of Flash and SVG to give a feel for how this stuff works out in practice.

I’m really psyched about the lineup, I think we’re in for a ton of info and great practical advice. But I’m equally interested in finding out what some of the other folks in the audience have been doing in terms of Flash and SVG. Have they given it a try? Are they planning to? How has it worked out? I’m looking forward to seeing all of you there, see you next week!
