Hey folks, here’s the details for the March 6th, 2006 Silicon Valley edition of Mobile Monday:

  • What: March 2006 Mobile Monday (Mobile Web)
  • When: March 6th, 2006 7:00pm
  • Where: Haas School of Business (2220 Piedmont Avenue, University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA 94720-1900)
  • Who: Anyone interested in mobility
  • Cost: Nothing!

What do we have lined up:

  • Minimo - the Mozilla project to bring their open source browser to mobile platforms.
  • S60 OSS Browser - Nokia’s own open source browser entry.
  • NetFront 3.4 and other Mobile Web technology from ACCESS (PalmSource’s new parent company).

We’ve limited it to three presentations this time. The presentations have been running too long, not leaving enough time to talk with all the other folks who come to the events afterward.

Here’s a bunch of info about visiting Berkeley (Thanks Lilia!!), such as where to park and how to get there on BART. I’m hoping we see a lot of new faces, this being our first time over in Berkeley. So if you know anyone who might be interested but can’t normally make it, be sure to pass along the message!

  • Riding Bart

Take the Richmond-bound BART train to the Downtown Berkeley station. From the BART station, it’s a 15-minute (uphill) walk to Haas; begin walking up Center Ave. towards campus and continue walking through campus until you reach Haas. For a map of campus visit: http://www.berkeley.edu/map/maps/CD67.html

You can also take the campus shuttle bus (closest stop is at Scandinavian Designs, at Shattuck and Addison). Ask to be dropped off at the Haas School of Business. Fare is 50 cents. Visit the campus shuttle website or call (510) 642-5149 for more information.

  • Taking AC Transit to Haas

Take the F Adeleine Transbay bus line at the Transbay terminal in San Francisco (1st and Mission streets). The bus will drop you off right in front of the Haas School of Business. For fares visit: http://www.actransit.org/riderinfo/busfares.wu.

As last time, anyone who wants to come and record the presentations for podcasting or videocasting is welcome to. But Russ and I don’t have the resources ourselves to do the recording (though we can probably help with hosting if someone else can do the production). See you all on Monday!!
