Today Mobile Monday Silicon Valley published a report on the local mobile industry, Investment in the Silicon Valley Mobile Industry 1999 - Present. We found that mobile has become a billion-dollar a year investment sector in Silicon Valley. Check out the report for our findings, like the dramatic increase in mobile acquisitions in 2008 and that 90 mobile companies were funded in the Bay Area alone in 2008. We also found strong growth in mobile companies that sell hardware, ads and platforms, but slower growth than we expected in software development and apps. More fun facts in the report.
