The topic for the March Mobile Monday is “Mobile Gaming”. The Game Developers Conference is going to be in town, and hopefully we can provide the out-of-towners a great place to come and talk after the day winds down at Moscone. Here’s the lineup for the evening:

• Stephen Cheng (Innaworks) - Stephen has been doing work on J2ME size optimization and is planning to release a related product, mBooster, during the conf. He’s coming to MoMo to talk about some of the less-discussed aspects of size optimization. His presentation will be an overall look at where the bytes go and what some of the sensible strategies for dealing with size are.
• Keith Cook (Mobile Complete) - Keith is the VP of Business Development and Sales at Mobile Complete, a company that provides remote on-device application monitoring and testing. Their technology has been used by a number of companies in the mobile gaming community, and Keith is going to share some of the information they’ve learned about how to overcome the challenges.
• Michael Nelson (Timelapse Mobile) - Mike is the founder of Timelapse Mobile and has a long background in gaming industry. Timelapse has been working on original titles that take advantage of the strengths of mobile devices. Mike is going to talk about some of the decisions he’s come to in making the choice between porting existing titles or developing new ones.
• Michelle Bushneff (Digital Chocolate) - As Vice President of Publishing Michelle is responsible for managing the development of mobile games and applications at Digital Chocolate. Her presentation is going to focus on some of the different demographic opportunities in mobile gaming.

We had a killer Mobile Monday last night, easily the best ever event. Check out the pictures tagged with Mobile Monday at Flickr, I’ve uploaded a bunch just now, hopefully more will be coming. And there may be some audio of the event available as well. I put a link up if I find it.

The presenters were amazing: Thanks again to Marc, Anita, Ted and Alan for making the long trek down to the Valley to present for us! They gave really great, insightful presentations about new concepts, technologies and products. I definitely took away a ton from the meeting. Also, the facilities were great, thanks to Microsoft, and the everyone who showed up was just excellent. At least 90 people packed the presentation room with standing room only. I can’t believe how much buzz MoMo is starting to generate. And again, we had a great mix of techies, product people and others who showed as well which is the balance we’ve been looking for. The short 20-minute presentations are spot-on in length, keeps the topic focused and the question topical. Thanks to the original MobileMonday.net guys for teaching us how its done!

March’s Meeting coincides with the Game Developer’s Conference so we’re going to be focusing on Mobile Gaming and from what I hear Mike is already lining up some great speakers.
